Brooks? ...

I never thought I’d even consider it, but I might go to Brooks next year. For me there’s always been a stigma attached to the university. It seems to be a pretender to Oxfords unattainable crown. In saying that, it’s a top 30 university and is seeking to improve. I am going to apply purely to University of London colleges like Queen Mary, UCL, and Goldsmiths. I f I don’t get in I will go to Brooks.

I have just realised that Oxford isn’t that bad a place. I know it sounds childish, but if I move too far afield I’ll get seriously home sick. I love this place. Sometimes I just take it for granted. Brooks to me seems like a half decent compromise.

College Life 7 Weeks In...

I am finding my stay here at Ruskin more and more peculiar. New relationships are being forged and social groups are being fortified. It always happens in a close nit community. It’s just weird because it feels like school. At times it’s quite surreal. I guess I just have to get used to it. Overall these past few weeks at Ruskin have been pretty good. The only thing I have a problem with, is the passive aggressive –nature social groups. I’ve always hated how people in a close community naturally migrate to a certain group of people. I am no exception, which is quite hypocritical, but who isn’t to be honest. Everyone is a walking oxymoron to an extent. To say other-wise is to be in denial. Now I am self righteous which in my opinion is my most attractive personality trait. I just hate being part of a social system I have no control over. The control issue is another story all together haha.

Facebook

I am getting pissed off at facebook. The social status thing is really quite fucked up when you think about it. I was watching random videos on Youtube and I came across this hilarious video that just sheds light on the absurdity of face book. It’s an absolute fucking classic.

Christopher Hitchens

I think Christopher Hitchens is one of the most important commentators of modern times. Some of what he says on Iraq I disagree with, but his arguments against religion are comprehensive and all encompassing. Even if you don’t agree with Mr. Hitchens, he does give a master class in how to put forth and defend an argument. Check him out if you can on youtube.

Why not crack?

I don’t know what the fuck is going on anymore. You think you've got life figured up and then you self sabotage your life and end up questioning everything. Ah well, we spend most of our lives in jobs we hate. At the end of the day, at least I have the freedom to crack jokes poking fun at everything under the sun from fascist feminists to Big Issue whores. When you realise life is what you make it, it just makes life twice as hard to deal with.

Death Proof!?

The best scene in Death Proof and the only reason for going to see it is this scene. Sorry to be such a guy, but this scene is fucking brilliant. It doesn’t get any better. By the way you might catch me tomorrow on Question (BBC 1 10:30pm) asking a question to the panel. I am getting kind of freaked out, but it should be quite fun all in all. If I make a fool out of myself it wouldn’t be the first time. If I do get to ask a question I will post some video of me asking.

Need Something 2 DO!

I need an outlet. Everyone has an outlet. Some people write while others play instruments. There are infinite possibilities for someone looking for something to do. I just had one of those eureka moments; I realised the world has so much to offer. I am always so fucking bored most of the time. I just need to take up a new hobby. No I am not going to take up arts and crafts and no I am not going to invest in one of those £3.99 collector’s magazines that come with different model Spitfire every fucking week. I am going to learn to play the guitar… hahaha just kidding.
